Smoothie Workshop Organized by Joy Corporate GmbH
What does it take to integrate a balanced nutrition into our daily work routine? How can we easily include two servings of fruit and three servings of vegetables daily without a lot of effort? And - how do you really mix a colourful, healthy and tasty smoothie?
These questions are the focus of the workshop we were able to organize at the offices of Adobe in Basel. We are happy to support Adobe expanding their team wellbeing approach in 2019 with activities like this, that focus on encouraging the participants to adopt healthy lifestyles.
Employees of Adobe got the chance to learn more about the world of smoothies and what makes them so valuable to us. First of all, it is important to know, that there are so many different possibilities to create smoothies, which makes it easier for every person, to find the perfect mix for them. One trick for people who do not really appreciate the taste of vegetables, for example, is, to mix green smoothies with the right fruits - which turns them into delicious and refreshing drinks.
But smoothies are not only about taste and looking fresh, but they are also really important for your health. Vegetables and fruits in insufficient quantity can cause health problems. Professionals recommend consuming three servings of vegetables and two servings of fruits a day. Following these recommendations is sometimes quite difficult, especially in the daily work life. The daily consumption of smoothies can solve the problem - nutritional needs and great taste combined in these very variable creations. Important is also the fact, that smoothies are ahead of the game regarding fibers, because here the whole fruit or the whole leafy vegetable is processed, which is not the case in juices. These fibers can help to adjust the level of sugar in the blood, are healthy for our intestines and can reduce appetite. The ingredients provide more energy to the body, what helps to eliminate harmful acids, toxins, and other substances. Shortly - Smoothies make you stronger!
But not only vitamins and fibers are important ingredients, smoothies also provide cleansing abilities - Chlorophyll! The green color pigment helps to clean the blood, to promote detoxification and is also well known for counteracting inflammations.
Then there are the important Omega 3 fatty acids, which is essential to our bodies and can easily be covered by adding a tablespoon of omega-3 oil to enrich the smoothie.
Next to the healthy parts, there are the fun parts of smoothies - mixing all these fresh and tasteful ingredients! All participants of the workshop had great fun learning how to create their own perfect smoothie.
First of all, to produce a creamy smoothie you need a powerful blender. The shredding of the fibers is important to get complete access to all nutrients. The organically grown fruits and vegetables should be washed, unpeeled and cut into quite big pieces. Adding almond milk instead of water to mix it, turns it into a wholesome meal thanks to its vital substances. Adding a teaspoon of Spirulina algae powder or chlorella algae powder to your fruit smoothie gives you the possibility to enjoy the benefits of green leafy vegetables and have a great tasting fruit drink at the same time. The ideal proportion of the ingredients can be individually adapted, covering all needs and personal tastes.
Employees attending this workshop did not only learn a lot about mixing their perfect personal smoothie, they also noticed that it contributed to their wellbeing - it awakens the spirits, promotes good health and makes you happy. What else would an employee need to start a satisfying and productive day at work!
